Objectives: What are you really saying? Examine body language, personal space and how to talk "to" and not "at" people. Improve interpersonal communication skills to achieve more effective results and more satisfying relationships. Practice listening skills to improve communication. Identify and practice a four-step model of communication to improve effectiveness and get needs met.

Objectives: Participants will be able to identify the benefits and common misconceptions of the consensus process; describe the three stages of the consensus process and facilitation strategies for moving a group through the various stages. Discuss the step-by-step process for reaching consensus in group meetings and teams. Identify how to facilitate and conduct meetings for collective decision making among diverse individuals and teams. Identify the organizational benefits of problem solving through a collaborative (win/win) process. Discuss the leadership behavior that creates "Teamwork Thinking" in the workplace. 

Dancing Outside Your Communication Box
Maximizing Communications between Men and Women
Objective: Learn the ten most important things to know about different male and female communication styles - things your mother never told you and things your father never knew. Learn about managing the differences differently.

Decision Making
Objectives: Learn how to identify and clarify the decisions that need to be made. Explore the variables that impact decision-making. Identify the affected parties of a decision outcome and examine how to define strategic goals. Consider all analysis points and system impacts. Learn how to move from decisions to action.

Dealing with Difficult People
Objective: Learn techniques for dealing with all types of people, from the Know-it-all, Intimidators, Non-committers, Yes-men to the constant Complainer. Help lessen their impact on morale and productivity while gaining insight into what motivates and deals with each "style." 

Diversity Training
Objective: This program in global awareness is designed to sensitize the businessperson to the cultural influences and differences that affect business transactions and the management of people. 
Participants will be shown the phenomenon of business globalization and the importance of building a global mindset. Participants will be shown how to see culture as an organizing principle of human behavior that affects business relationships, job performance, and their own effectiveness. Participants will be shown how to develop self-awareness regarding their own culturally determined values that influence how they conduct business; and to identify attributes and skills that make a person "inter-culturally competent." 

Domestic Violence - A Workplace Issue
Objective: Understand how the cycle of domestic violence elevates and becomes a danger to those in the workplace. "Violence doesn't stay home when the victim goes to work!" Explore what workplace domestic violence looks like, identify and "read" the signs, identify the "victims", and look at the effects on the workplace (i.e. productivity, morale, attendance, statistics of crime related incidents). The establishment of workplace security, education and training are emphasized.

Genesis of SELF
Objective: Create a framework for improving the effectiveness of Mediation and relationships. Explore Spirit, Expectations, Longevity and Faith. Increase self-confidence and competence through increased insight, productivity and readiness.

I've Got Your Back
Objective: Discuss and create techniques to build trust and respect among team members and between the team and its leader. Show the importance of trust and respect in the workplace.

Listening for…
Objectives: Understand the power and goals of listening for… Practice specific listening skills that increase trust and interpersonal communication. Identify when to listen for…. Name the characteristics of a listening culture. Explore how increased listening improves productivity and employee retention.

Managing Emotions 
Objectives: Increase awareness of emotions - yours and others. Examine emotional vocabulary. Identify common emotions that evaluate and provoke. Explore the sources of emotions, the emotion iceberg and emotional intensity. Practice "communicate and respond" emotions role-plays for effective resolution skills. Establish boundaries for the emotions of others. 

McGyverism (Improvising)
Objective: Learn to use the tools that are available, sometimes not in the ways they are intended to be used! Find unique ways to solve problems when they arise.

Negotiation 
Objectives: Define negotiation and explore different negotiation styles. Name the elements of negotiation analysis. Identify ethical considerations and cultural differences during negotiations. Review ways to prepare and strategize for negotiation. Recognizing the impact of communication styles in negotiation.

Presentation Skills
Participants will learn how to prepare for, and the dynamics of effective presentations. Investigate ways to research and identify the audience's needs, the strengths and weaknesses of various forms of presentation media, and effective techniques to capture and maintain audience attention. Based on the customer's target learning objectives, participants in this course will receive training through presentation and exercises. If requested, labs and role-plays can be added and video taped for practice and feedback analysis.

Proper Prior Performance Prevents Piss Poor Performance - The 7 P's
Objective: To discuss the importance of proper preparation to any task, no matter how small.

Race Talks
Objective: Participants meet and discuss their experiences in facilitated small groups to better understand each other. Learn specific, authentic communication skills to share difficult feelings and experiences in a safe space. Confront each other's prejudices and stereotypes. Explore how to work more effectively with different people and cultures.

Surviving a Hostage Situation
Objective: Provide a better understanding of what can happen when you become a hostage and how to increase your chances of survival.

Surviving Being Trapped
Objective: Provide the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to increase your chances of surviving if trapped in a building or building rubble in crisis or disaster.

Teamwork
Objective: To look at and design new ways to create and foster teamwork at all levels. Discuss the importance of teamwork and its impact on productivity and morale.

Working with Difficult People
Objective: Identify what makes people difficult; Analyze the Five Most Common Communication Behaviors; Understand the Three Kinds of Communicators; Rebuild communication after Communication Failures; Determining how you communicate - Self Evaluation; Play your own cards - "now when to hold them and when to fold them" Understand difficult versus different.

Workplace Diversity 
Objective: This training is centered on the CRATER principles of communication, respect, acceptance, trust, ethical behaviors, and responsibility. You will identify differences in leadership styles, building effective communications, understand the role of values, use communications that count, develop trusting relationships. By knowing the road signs - Understanding and Acceptance, you can create the CRATER Workplace.
